April Ross
April Ross is one of only a few female beach volleyball athletes to capture medals at more than one Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal alongside Alix Klineman, who is a first-time Olympian. Ross is also hoping to win her very first Olympic medal. It may well be that she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. Her confidence is high nevertheless. If we play our top or do well, I believe we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. This is also a matter of chance. Ross born in 1982 and lived in Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started playing athletics at Newport Harbor High school. Along with participating in a variety of sport, she also attended Newport Harbor High School. As a prep-athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. But she stood out at this level. Based on her biography, she was a middle blocker and outside volleyball player throughout her time in high school. Her achievements were rewarded in 1999 when she was named Gatorade's Circle Of Champions National Players of the Year. In 2000, the Orange County Athlete of the Month was also received by her in volleyball. Ross Klineman and Ross may have begun working together in 2017, but Ross was an experienced athlete at the beach prior to when they came together. In actual, Ross has won several significant tournaments during her time along with her two teammates. One is a volleyball legend. From 2007 until 2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy, who is the coach she is currently. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who took home the title of world champion together with Kessy in 2009, also was a major force on an international level. In 2012, the pair took silver in London's Olympics. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the trio to beat out for gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she announced her retirement. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a player for the USC Trojans in the college years following her graduation from the high school she attended. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was amazing. She was an All-American and Pac-10 freshman of the year in 2000 as a young freshman. In 2000, her Trojans also reached the Final Four. Her heart was broken through a tragedy in her life during her sophomore years, yet she was able to make it an All-American once more. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she guided the Trojans to winning a national title every year. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time legend winning the 2003-2004 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie never got to see her daughter ascend to the top levels of beach volleyball fame. Ross's mom passed away due to breast cancer while she was a sophomore in USC. She is devoted to her late parent. Margie is a source of inspiration both in her personal life and at the beaches.
