Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is an writer, philanthropist and television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she relocated to England when she was sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. When she was 21, she became the president of the famed debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. When she graduated, she made her name as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and, with the launching of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that offered critical observations regarding the state of affairs. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna became famous in 2003 as she stood for California's recall election, in the place of Governor Davis. She was also involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for cars that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her 12th in their list of the Top Popular Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in 2010. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made the president of this group. This included many AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos was a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as journalist. Although she was a close friend with her father, it was the relationship she shared with her mother which shaped her life. At a young age, she displayed the leadership abilities that she is still known for. At the age of 16, she travelled to England to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first female president and sole foreign president. In 1972, her Master's in Economics was conferred. She was a journalist television host, and a columnist after her graduation. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
