Despacito is a hit song from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi with Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. It was the top streaming music of that time within six month. The mix of reggaeton with pop music did not just draw an interest to the genre, but also to Latin music all over the world. Billboard's Top 100 had four songs in 2016 compared to two songs from the year 2015. In 2017, during the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 tracks mostly Spanish have made it into the Top 100. In the year 2020 it will be 41 tracks from this category. After Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in 2017, well-known artists started to work with reggaeton musicians. Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team to record MIA (2018) as did Madonna and Maluma on Medellin, Madonna and Maluma were on the same track in Medellin in the year 2019. In 2020, a few Reggaeton artists were complaining about how the genre was moving towards mainstream. Yet, a newer generation, Rauw Alejandro wanted to maintain the development. It often featured elements from various genres, as well as electronic dance.
